Service Description

Discover Conwy through its flavours as well as its fascinating past on this guided foodie tour that celebrates the town as one of North Wales’ most rewarding food destinations. As you wander the medieval streets beneath the mighty Conwy Castle, I will bring the town’s rich history and heritage to life—its walls, merchants, sailors and storytellers—while introducing you to the tastes that define Conwy today. You’ll visit a carefully chosen selection of independent, artisan producers and local shops, including the winner of Best Independent Off-Licence in Britain, where you’ll chat about Welsh wines and choose a bottle of your choice or sample some outstanding local ales. Tastings can also include artisan Welsh cheeses and exquisite handmade chocolates from renowned suppliers to Harrods and Fortnum & Mason who make everything on the premises. Exactly which venues we visit and what we sample can be tailored to suit your preferences and tastes and some do depend on their operating days and hours. The tour continues down to the quayside, strolling past lobster pots and fishing trawlers as you learn all about Conwy mussels and their traditional harvesting methods. From the Smallest House in Great Britain to the castle there are many beautiful backdrops for photos and your I am always keen to play cameraman! There are plenty of insider tips to share on the very best local restaurants, food outlets and delicacies. Whether you’re tempted by fine dining featuring local mussels or fresh fish and chips enjoyed while watching the boats bob in the harbour, you’ll finish the tour perfectly placed to enjoy Conwy at its most delicious. The price of the tour is based on a minimum group size of 2 and includes all samples and tastings. Additional members can be added to the group at £30 per person but some venues can only cater for smaller groups and couples, particularly at busier times of the year. Please notify me of any food allergies at least 48 hours in advance. You can book by emailing me via james@conwyguidedtours.com or telephoning +44 7899168719
