Built on a background of work in schools

When Conwy Guided Tours are providing your off-site learning experience you can rest assured that you will be benefitting from a very high-quality provider who fully understands the school's perspective. I taught history (as well as a number of other subjects!) to 11-16 year olds for 30 years and was a member of a School Leadership Team for 12 years. As an Assistant Headteacher I gained a wealth of experience in leading on educational visits, safeguarding, curriculum design, team-building, rewards, metacognition, literacy, inclusion and SEND. I have organised and delivered one-day and residential off-site learning experiences to the Netherlands, Germany, France, London, Shropshire, Quarry Bank Mill, Leeds Royal Armouries, North Wales and the Peak District to name but a few. I am also able to involve primary trained colleagues and local artists in our provision as required.

Guided Tours

We provide  an engaging and entertaining tour of Conwy and/or Conwy Castle. Content is adapted to suit a young audience and to align with your priorities and curriculum. Conwy certainly lends itself to a wide range of themes which include but are not limited to the following: medieval history, Tudor history, the

English Civil War, diversity, migration, empire and conquest, engineering and technology, industrialisation and land use and coastal management.

As I have a wealth of experience from curriculum design to tailoring presentations and resources to suit a young audience, you may rest assured that your students will benefit from an engaging and enjoyable experience.

Team Building

We provide a range of fun team building activities which help children develop and learn while thoroughly enjoying themselves! Some are best delivered as an outdoor activity but others can run indoors at our classroom at Conwy Visitor Centre.

As an FA qualified football coach I have always been passionate about the importance of team building, leadership skills and the importance of helping young people develop their ability to express themselves while communicating and interacting in a positive way.

When children returned to formal schooling after the lockdowns of the Covid 19 pandemic I designed a recovery curriculum which had team building at its heart. This experience has enabled me to build a team building programme which can enable your children to shine and to grow through a flexible programme which can be adapted to meet your exact needs.

Brass rubbing centre

Brass rubbing is a fun and accessible art and craft activity which can be enjoyed by all. Choose from our range of historic brasses and create a beautiful image to take home as a lasting souvenir of your time in Conwy.
